In June 2011, the publisher announced that Motor Boating Magazine will now publish two special buyer's guide issues annually, but will no longer be available on a subscription basis.

Motor Boating Magazine was one of the oldest and most prestigious of the boating magazines and focused on powerboats of all sizes. Originally known as Motorboating & Sailing each issue profiled the hottest new models, journeys to exotic locations, and design insights. The primary emphasis was on new boats, including both the pleasure and the practical aspects of boating, and there was a substantial classified and brokerage section in each issue. Stunning action photography captured vessels in their full glory.
